Hazelnut Creamer

I had about 1 cup of hazelnuts in my pantry... what to make, what to make... light bulb! Hazelnut creamer! Only 3 ingredients; nuts, water and pure vanilla! No thank you to all the icky ingredients found in store bought creamers. No gums, fillers or shady "natural ingredients" here! Don't have or like hazelnuts? Use almonds or shredded coconut (for nut free). Feel free to add 1 Tbs of pure maple syrup or raw honey for some sweetener. I'm looking forward to using this as creamer or even for milk!

Makes ~2 cups

1 cup raw hazelnuts

4 cups water (2 cups for soaking/2 cups for blending)

2 tsp pure vanilla extract

In a bowl, cover nuts with water and soak overnight at room temperature. Rinse and drain nuts. Blend nuts, 2 cups water and vanilla in high speed blender for 1-2 minutes until smooth. Pour liquid through nut milk bag into a large bowl and squeeze until all liquid is strained though. Store in sealed container in refrigerator up to 5 days. Watch the reel here
