Carrot Ginger Turkey Burgers Take 2!
Updated: May 18

My favorite recipe to make with ground turkey is burgers! They're quick and easy and full of lean protein. I have several different flavor combinations, here's an alternate carrot ginger burger https://www.laurenloliving.com/post/carrot-ginger-chicken-burgers. You can alternately use ground chicken for this recipe and I used reflux friendly dry spices since I don't always have fresh ginger on hand. The addition of raw carrots brings great moisture to the meat making for a juicy bite every time!
Serves 4
1 lb organic ground turkey
1 cup grated raw carrots
1 Tbs extra virgin olive oil
2 Tbs tamari or coconut aminos
1 Tbs pure maple syrup
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
sprinkle garlic powder (optional)
Preheat grill to medium-high heat (I use my George Foreman)
In medium bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well with your hands to evenly distribute. Do not over handle. Form 4 equal patties. Make an indention in the center of the patty with your thumb.
Lightly spray grill with healthy oil. Add your patties to the grill and sprinkle with pink or sea salt and a little more pepper if desired.
Cook until internal temp reaches 160-165 (about 5 minutes on the Foreman) let rest for a few minutes and serve! Check out the reel here https://www.instagram.com/p/CsU9DFCLEaK/
Notes: Turmeric's anti-inflammatory properties are potentiated with black pepper so I always try to use them hand in hand!
