Berrylicious smoothie

Smoothies are my love language! I can fill with lots of healthy ingredients, hitting daily requirements for many vitamins and minerals! Especially calcium-it's challenging to meet Ca requirements without dairy but completely possible with a little creativity. I make my own sesame seed milk which is packed with calcium! See my easy recipe below.

Serves 1

Smoothie

1/2 frozen banana

1/2 cup frozen mixed berries

1/2 cup sesame seed milk

1/4-1/2 cup choice of non dairy milk

Small handful kale

1 Tbs hemp hearts

1 Tbs ground flax seeds

1 scoop clean pea protein I use this https://amzn.to/3TvTz7T

2 pitted medjool dates

Blend all in high powered blender

Additional mix-ins: 1-2 Tbs almond butter, 1 Tbs chia seeds, 1 tsp maca powder, 1 tsp spirulina, coconut water

Sesame Seed Milk

1 cup sesame seeds

3 cups filtered water

In a bowl, soak seeds and water overnight and blend 1-2 minutes in high powered blender until smooth. I use this one https://amzn.to/3KpOqtT it's pricey but has more than paid for itself with how often I use it! Store milk in sealed container in refrigerator up to 5 days.

373 mg Calcium per 1/2 cup
